What is ECHO? — A Journey to the True Root of Our Issues

A personal way to insight

Have you ever done a coaching session only to later realize that hardly anything in your life had changed? Have you done therapeutic work, only to see yourself going in circles again? Maybe you tried energy work, felt great for a short time — but soon everything was like before?

It can be incredibly frustrating when you feel that nothing truly changes, while others apparently make steady progress. Believe me, I know this feeling all too well — and this as a highly qualified, multiple-certified expert in self-development. Yet there was a moment in my life that changed everything.

A moment that had nothing to do with the “next hot trend” in coaching, but with a deep, intuitive insight I experienced over 10 years ago in my own living room in Hamburg.

The encounter with my ancestors

On a quite ordinary Saturday afternoon I was sitting on my white couch in my old building apartment, plagued by self‐doubts. I had an impressive list of trainings behind me — from NLP to Wingwave to Reiki and aura diagnostics — and yet I found myself again at that same point. I had “worked through” a personal issue, but it came back. I had tried cognitive coaching, inner child work, psychotherapy and other modalities. Again and again.

And yet I seemed unable to overcome the issue.

I began to doubt myself. Was I not “coachable”? Had I overlooked something? My trainers had no new answers for me, beyond the usual: “Then you just didn’t work hard enough.” But deep inside I knew: this was about more than just a lack of discipline. Something fundamental was wrong.

I took a deep breath in and out. Then I did something I hadn’t done in a long time: I asked not only my inner wisdom for guidance, but also those who came before me — my ancestors. I set the intention: Show me the true origin of this issue.

And suddenly I felt a shift. While my body outwardly remained calm, an emotional storm began to rage within me. Tears rose, my heart raced, my body tensed. And then there was a voice — one that wasn’t mine. A foreign, powerful presence surged through me. In that moment I knew: this voice belonged to one of my ancestors.

She was present in me and expressed through me. I felt that all the emotions of that tsunami originally were not mine. And I could let them pass. It became clear to me that everything connected with my “not coachable” issue did not originate with me, but in my ancestral line. That alongside what we experience in this life there is something carried forward.

So I let the energy flow through me, moved intuitively and finally spoke quietly: It is over. It is okay. You can now rest in peace.

And the peace that came, it did not leave me. Weeks later the issue did not return — I was “coached out.” That afternoon I sat for a while on my sofa in my living room to understand what had just happened. Because at that time I didn’t know any textbook or practice that addressed the ancestors in this way. Yet deep in me I knew: I had just experienced something that had always been there. And it was up to me to bring it back.

And to give it back to people.

And although it took some time until it was officially ready, that afternoon in my living room in Hamburg was the beginning of my journey into ancestral work — and the birth moment of ECHO®.

Today, ECHO® is the only method I know that not only diagnoses precisely where an issue has its origin, but has also revolutionized ancestral work through its unique process. Because I didn’t want anyone else to have to make the same errant journey I did.

Why classical methods are often not enough

Many therapy and coaching methods focus exclusively on personal experiences and childhood. But sometimes the real cause of our blocks lies much deeper. Issues that recur can come from three different levels:

  • On one hand from childhood or one’s own past. In childhood, our imprinting happens through family, school, and environment. And past experiences can leave emotional loops that ensure we repeatedly fall into similar situations or reaction patterns. These experiences shape our self-image and behavior.
  • On the other hand, ancestors can be the origin of our issues. Their traumas, experiences, and unresolved matters can be passed down through generations. These epigenetic markers can unconsciously influence our thinking and feeling.
  • And collective imprints can also affect our emotions and behavior. Historical events, cultural norms or societal traumas can leave traces in us that shape us, without us consciously perceiving them.

Because classical inner-child work or conventional therapy forms often only deal with the childhood level and information from our own lives, they are limited in uncovering these origins. For if an issue has its roots in the ancestor line or in the collective, these methods cannot fully transform it. At best, they may address what showed up in childhood as a “consequence event” of the imprint from ancestors or the collective.

And so the process remains incomplete.

What makes ECHO® different?

ECHO® goes beyond classical methods by from the very beginning including the various origin levels and precisely determining where an issue originates — from childhood, from the ancestor line, or from the collective. Because it was a heartfelt concern for me to lift that responsibility off individuals and develop a method that gives the answer which forms the key to a successful process.

Therefore the method works with a unique transformation approach that addresses the root directly:

  • Individual assignment — ECHO® determines on which level a problem originated and thus enables targeted work.
  • Deep transformation — Instead of treating symptoms, ECHO® dissolves the actual cause by changing energetic, emotional and epigenetic patterns.
  • Scientifically grounded — ECHO® integrates findings from epigenetics, neurobiology, and systemic work to enable sustainable change.

Who is ECHO® suitable for?

If you’re wondering whether ECHO® is for you, then of course my answer is yes. If you’re still unsure, take a look at this list, because ECHO® is ideal for people who:

  • repeatedly struggle with the same challenges, without finding a lasting solution.
  • wonder why certain blocks can’t be dissolved through classical therapy or coaching.
  • sense that certain fears, patterns or beliefs don’t only stem from their own life.
  • want to go deeper and resolve the true root of their issues.
  • as coaches or therapists are looking for an innovative method to elevate their work.

Conclusion: The Future of Healing

For me, ECHO® is more than just a method — it is a paradigm shift in healing work. Instead of reliving the same patterns over and over, ECHO® enables sustainable transformation on all levels. That is what I had wished for at the time, what I see that so many of us need. ECHO® takes responsibility off the individual and opens a path of healing and transformation that is simple, light and above all sustainable.

If you feel that old issues hold you back, it may be time to look deeper and recognize the true root.
